NYK-Fil Ship Management, Inc. (NYK-FIL) has emerged as one of the most successful ship manning companies in the Philippines. It recruits, selects, and deploys thousands of Filipino seafarers to vessels of NYK Line, one of the oldest and largest shipping companies in the world.
Established in August 1989, NYK-FIL is a joint venture of NYK Line and the Filipino-owned Transnational Diversified Group, a fast growing conglomerate consisting of more than 33 operating companies.
It holds office in the city of Manila (the capital of the country) in Intramuros district which was once the center of power during the time the Philippines was a colony of Spain.
NYK-FIL, although a relatively young player in the ship manning business, has carved a respectable niche in the maritime industry for its accomplishments in deploying quality seafarers which were duly recognized as evidenced by the numerous awards it has received from the Philippine government over the years.
Today, its pool of merchant marine officers and crew can be deployed to almost all types of ocean-going ships?from the traditional carriers to highly-modernized and specialized ones such as big containers, product tankers, Liquefied Natural Gas carriers, and chemical tankers.
NYK-FIL also deploys majority of the hotel crew for Crystal Cruises, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK Line, which operates the six-star luxury liners Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. CCI has been consistently voted by readers of the renowned travel magazine Travel + Leisure as ?World?s Best Large Ship Cruise Line.?
It maintains a Satellite office in Iloilo province in the Western Visayas Region of the Philippines. This office is an added service to crew residing thereat and nearby areas to enable them to save on transportation and board and lodging costs as well as time spent for loved ones.
