COMPANY PROFILE 2007
M & A Maritime Shipping Company operates out of Manila’s district of Ermita, a tourist belt, now a conglomerate hub of five-star hotels, colleges and universities, maritime training centers, banks, hospitals, as well as government offices and commercial establishments.
The Company was organized by Engr. Manuel P. Bacay which have experience in local and international shipping, in May 2001 and was transport of general bulk and petroleum cargo traded in domestic ports. In the process M&A staff personnell gained experience in chartering operation. Eventually the Company embarked on international trading and much later, earned its license for recruiting seafarers and supplying them to agent-principals in the Middle East who are owners of vessels plying international routes.
Aware of the increasingly competitive nature of the business in the maritime industry, the Company continues to upgrade qualifications of personnel and its system of activities/opearations to meet the requirements of regulatory bodies, e.g., the International Maritime Organizational.
At present, the Company dispatches selected Filipino officers and crew to major princiipals in the United Arab Emirates, China, Malaysia and Japan. For years now these principals, employing Filipino seafarers from M & A Maritime Shipping Co., continue hiring them under contract with mutually beneficial provisions.
In UAE alone, our expanding group of principals have expressed satisfaction over Filipino officers, citing them for their experience, skills, dependability in their billets aboard ship. Mariner-expatriates of other nationalities admire Filipino seafarers for their work attitude.
M & A Maritime Shipping Co. foresees that more jobs for its select breed of seafarers awaits them on board various types and tonnage of ships to sail them safety on th eseven seas.
